Q: What are the Dance Central Studio’s like?

A: Dance Central has the best dance facilities in Canberra. We have recently moved into our new state of the art studios in Altree Court, Phillip. Our light filled, air conditioned and ventilated studios are inviting spaces to dance and come with all the necessary professional support equipment to make your dance experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Including the state of the art fully sprung dance floors the sam floors The Australian Ballet use. Two floors are lined with Tarkett and 2 floors are wooden stage floors.

Q: Do you offer Refunds?

A: At Dance Central we are dedicated to our students getting as much out of the classes as possible. Having a clear objective at the start is really helpful and your teacher will talk with you about this. However we do understand that sometimes things just don’t work according to plan. If you decide after week 1 the class is not for you we will offer a full refund. If you decide after week 2 the class is not for you we can offer you a refund minus the classes you have attended. We do not offer refunds after week 2.

Q: What’s the average size of a class?

A: Class sizes vary according to each individual class. For example, our Blueberries maximum is thirteen students, our junior classes between thirteen and fifteen students, teen classes between fifteen and seventeen and adults up to twenty, depending on the style of the class.

Q: Are the New to Dance classes mixed with younger adults?

A: No. We respect that if you’re trying out dance for the first time (or coming back after a long break!) you need to feel completely comfortable. Our new to dance adult classes are for 18years + and experienced dancers have their own classes.

Q: Do I need to be really fit to join a class?

A: Of course it helps if you’re fit but no. We will support you to choose a class suitable to your dance and fitness level. Unless you are part of our professional program, all dance classes can be taken at your own pace and students are encouraged to build their fitness from week to week.

Q: In the Junior class, can I stay with my child?

A: No parents are permitted to stay with their child while they take class. We have found that parents and siblings can distract the other children in the class from participating and learning. There are, however, special circumstances with children who require special accommodation etc.

Q: Do you offer follow on classes from Blueberries when my child goes to school?

A: We do indeed. When it’s time for our little Blueberries to go to school they can continue on to our Junior Classes. We offer classes in; Jazz Funk, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, drama and Hip Hop. The emphasis is still on having lots of fun while learning the fundamental of dance and they are great for keeping kids active! You can learn more here.

Q: Do you offer private one on one and group dance classes?

A: Yes we do. Depending on your requirements and the availability of our teachers we can certainly discuss some options with you. Please contact us with further details here.
