Alenka has been dancing since the age of 12 with a strong focus on classical ballet. From the age of 12, Alenka studied both the Cecchetti and RAD methods of classical dance at Canberra Festival Ballet School. In 2010 Alenka was accepted into the Cecchetti Classical Ballet Scholarship Scheme which offers young talented dancers training and performance opportunities by international teachers. Scholarships are provided upon audition and Alenka was offered a scholarship into this prestigious program. Each state is represented by selected dancers — Alenka represented the ACT.
In 2011 Alenka successfully auditioned for the ISS2020’s Ignite program which is ideal for students who have already achieved a pre-professional level of dancing and are seeking to expand their technical development through exciting international experiences. The program focuses on enhancing professional skill sets, as well as providing students with access to the forefront of contemporary and classical ballet training through specialised classes and workshops whilst providing exclusive introductions to professional finishing schools to gain further knowledge to the stylistic nuances of international ballet training provided by international teachers. Following a successful audition, Alenka was given the opportunity to train and perform under this prestigious program. Following this Alenka was offered a full-time position at the McDonald Collage pre-professional performing arts program.
In 2012 Alenka successfully auditioned around Australia and was offered a place in the Victorian Collage of Arts (VCASS), Queensland Ballet’s Pre Professional Program, QUT Dance Performance (Ballet), WAPPA Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) and AMDA College of Performing Arts (New York) on a 3-year Scholarship.
Throughout the duration of Alenka’s ballet career, she has been teaching for 8 years and specialises in Classical Ballet Training (RAD and Cecchetti Methods), Technical Training, Ballet Strength and Conditioning, Contemporary and Jazz as well as Troupe/solo training, competition choreography and adults fitness.
She has also guided and trained students who have been accepted in many prestigious companies, pre-professional programs and performing arts schools around Australia and New Zealand.
