ROLE: Technical Teacher
Dance Experience
I started dancing when I was 3 years old and I’ve danced Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acrobatics, and Ballet. Highlights of my dance experience include representing Australia at the World Hip Hop Championships in 2015. I’ve been dancing competitively in Hip Hop Crew for 8 years and in Troupe for 3.

I have been teaching since 2018.
Q&A with Taylor
What got you into teaching?
I was looking for a job but it was a bit difficult with being at the studio so much so I spoke to Bonnie who suggested I assist her and Zoe’s acrobatic classes.
What styles of dance do you teach?
I teach Acrobatics.
What is your favourite group to teach?
6 to 8 years or 8 to 12 years
What is your style of teaching?
I think I’m quite upbeat and friendly, attentive to detail but firm when I need to be.
What do you love most about dance?
I love that we can express ourselves. Dancing can turn any bad day into a great one, and it’s a fun way to exercise and keep fit. Dance introduces us to heaps of amazing opportunities, teaches us to work as a team and builds our confidence.
What do you love most about teaching?
Working with the kids and seeing them improve. It’s really rewarding to see them having a great time
What are your top tips for students to get the most out of class?
Give the teacher your full attention, always give it your best and be open to trying new things. If you feel silly, you probably look amazing.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Food — chocolate, and salt & vinegar chips especially
Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
My mum and Bonnie.
