Zoe Becvarik

ROLE: Technical Teacher

Dance Experience

Zoe started learning Jazz at age nine. She was part of DKC and part of the first Junior crew to qualify and attend the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas. At the age of 12, she decided she wanted to do ballet and was accepted into a vocational ballet program. Through her ballet training at National Capital Ballet School, she was taught by esteemed teachers including Joseph Brown and developed both a strong appreciation and understanding of ballet. Ballet is her favourite genre and Zoe credits ballet for her development as a much stronger and more disciplined dancer in every other genre. In addition to her ballet training, Zoe also danced in Dance Central’s Open Eisteddfod troupe for three years performing in the styles of contemporary, jazz and lyrical.

Teaching Experience

Zoe has taught dance at Dance Central since 2015. As a teacher Zoe is attentive, always encouraging and tries to adapt her teaching to individual students so that they can all come away with a strong understanding of ballet. Zoe hopes that through her teaching she has also been able to cultivate the same love and passion for ballet and classical movement among her students that she has always had.
