#goturback

Dance Central’s very own anti-bullying campaign

Empowering a new generation of young women

Bullying is something we’ve all encountered, whether at school, at home, at sports, or at the workplace. And we don’t always recognise it for what it is at first glance, although its impact can be far reaching and long lasting.

#goturback is a Dance Central initiative designed to help prevent the act of bullying and mitigate acts of bullying within our community and beyond. It’s an initiative dedicated both to those who have been targets of bullying, and to those who commit acts of bullying.

The initiative promotes a philosophy of empowering young individuals — particularly those aged 12 to 17 years — to become more self-aware and to take a mindful approach towards others. We believe that “treating others how you would like to be treated” is at the core of having another person’s back… and that often, it makes all the difference.

At DC, we see themes like self-awareness, self belief, respect for others, and teamwork continually surface through the power of dance. We believe we are in a unique position to help youth overcome bullying behaviour using our long experience of character and team building through dance.

DKC are our youth ambassadors for #goturback. Learn more about the launch of #goturback.

Dance Central's Student Policy — a Must-Read

At Dance Central, we are committed to providing a fun, welcoming and inclusive environment for all ages and levels of ability, while empowering our students with independence, strength, a sense of freedom, acceptance, and love. To that end, we do not tolerate bullying.

Every student at Dance Central should feel safe.

As part of that commitment, we have a Student Policy that includes a Code of Conduct for Students and Parents.
