Here’s Why Julie’s Green Bang is The Bomb!
The health and fitness world has seen a huge surge in the popularity of juices and smoothies. Although we love a good juice, we absolutely adore our very own DC’s “Green Bang” smoothie even more!
Our founder, Julie, is sharing her best kept secret with you, her Green Bang recipe. Here are four reasons why you should incorporate it into your daily routine.
1. More of the Good Stuff
Fiber is key for digestive health to keep strong and in peak shape. While juicing is wonderful and can be a great way to get key nutrients, it lacks the natural fiber that comes from eating whole fruit. However, smoothies like our Green Bang include whole fruits and vegetables and holds a huge punch of fiber in each serving!
2. Strengthens and balances body PH levels
PH levels and the acidity vs alkalinity of the body is extremely important. As nutritional expert Sarah Wilson reminds us, increased acidity in the body is actually a “breeding ground for bacteria and disease.” As a result, eating alkalizing foods is actually incredibly important for your health and will help your organs (such as your brain!) to function at optimal levels. Julie's Green Bang
Serves 2-3 People
Ingredients
- 1 Celery Stick
- 1 Green Apple
- 1 Cucumber
- 1 Wedge Pineapple
- 1 Peeled Lemon
- 1 Knob Ginger (if desired)
- 2 to 3 Leaves Kale
- 200 to 300 ml water
Directions
- Roughly Chop all ingredients and place in a Nutribullet or blender.
- Blend completely.
